16th March 2020

Monday 16th March 2020

The health and safety of our guests and staff is our priority. We recognise that the situation is potentially unsettling and we would like to reassure you that we are closely monitoring the developing situation and following Government guidance to ensure you can enjoy the holiday you deserve.

This information is subject to change and will be updated in line with latest government advice and common sense.

For now, and unless otherwise advised, Waterside Campsite will remain open. Holidays are a chance to escape day to day life and are important for health and well-being.  We are taking the advice of medical professionals, the government and governing bodies seriously and alongside this believe we have a duty of care to our visitors and staff.

Camping & Glamping are not close contact activities involving strangers. In many ways they are the original self-isolating holiday. However, our public areas (shop, tables, reception, toilet blocks, laundry, showers, dishwashing area, chemical toilet etc) could be potential sources of surface virus transmission.  We would urge you to take extra care of yourselves and others in these areas.  It is suggested, where possible, that you use the facilities in your own vans or accommodation.

If you are planning a visit to Waterside, please note:

  • If you are showing symptoms similar to those associated with the virus (for example:  fever, cough, breathlessness), we politely ask that you do not visit
  • If you are travelling from an area that has been directly affected by the coronavirus we politely ask you not to visit.
  • You cannot choose Waterside as a place to self-isolate

We ask all our guests to observe high standards of personal hygiene whilst visiting Waterside.  There are simple things you can do to help prevent the spread of the virus, including:

  • Covering your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
  • Putting used tissues in the bin immediately
  • Washing your hands with soap and hot water regularly, and using hand sanitiser gel which will be provided outside all public areas.
  • Trying to avoid close contact with people
  • Avoiding touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
  • Avoid petting dogs or farm animals.

If you develop symptoms while on the site, please refrain from using the facilities. Please pack up and go home.  As soon as you are able, call the office on 01768486332 or email [email protected] to notify us, so that we are able to carry out the necessary cleaning procedures.  There is no need to report to NHS 111.  Do not go to a doctor, hospital or chemist, unless you are dangerously ill.

During your visit, we wish to reassure you that Waterside Campsite is taking all possible steps to minimise the risk of contagion, including the implementation of enhanced cleaning regimes throughout the whole park.  Rest assured, we will continue to act quickly and decisively,  should we be required to do so and will take all necessary precautions to protect the welfare of our guests and staff.

Reducing the risk of virus transmission at Waterside Campsite.

Distancing Measures.  Our pitches and accommodation have more than adequate space between them.  Please stand further back from our reception desk / shop counter, than you normally would.  This will help to reduce the risk for our front line staff and yourselves, to ensure we are able to continue to offer our services.  Please refrain from shaking hands with our staff or each other.

Additional Cleaning & Hygiene Measures.

We are double cleaning all our glamping units and public spaces.  We are undertaking additional daily cleaning ‘high touch point areas’ – door handles, tap heads, card machines, and so on.

Reducing cash handling. We are asking guests to pay by card wherever possible. There will be no minimum spend on card.
